Fort I/5 "Popowice"

Author: Jacek Dzik

Built in 1900, the designer selected was a Pole called Emil Gołogórski. Built in a semicircle, with a bastion in the center for defense. It had a wet moat in the flattened slope. A barrack-defensive building was constructed in the centre of the fort. The central part of the building housed the barracks, and on both its sides were towers, which were armored with 8cm m.94 guns. In total the fort was armed with four such towers, and an axially located observation tower. The fort is located in Ukraine.
