Fort XI "Duńkowiczki" is the main fort on the IV northern section of the defense. It is a twin-shaft armored artillery fort situated on a hill 266m above sea level in the village Duńkowiczki. It was built around 1886, and thoroughly modernized between 1897-1902. It also controlled one auxiliary fort called "Cegielnia". Bordering directly from Fort X “Orzechowce” and Fort XII "Werner" its main task was to defend the nearby road leading to Przemyśl from Radymno.

The largest battle fought at the fort was on the night of 7th and 8th October 1914, and 13th and 14th March 1915 during the battle of Batyczami. As a result of massive field artillery shelling by the Russians, the fort saw approx. 500 hits in its vicinity and directly on the fort. Despite so many hits the the fort did not suffer too much damage. When the fort was later blown up by retreating forces it also did not suffer too much damage. As a result of this the fort is in very good condition, and the barracks and traditors on the upper shaft and the inner passageways are well preserverd. The fort is unique, as it has the only preserved base for one of the pivotally retractable M.2. towers in the entire fortress.
