Fort I/2 "Byków"

Author: Jacek Dzik

Built 1895 and 1900 in a semicircular plan with a bastion in the bottleneck. Two open artillery batteries were added to it at a later time. Access to the fort and the battery was defended by a dry moat. In the centre of the fort was a two-storey, dual function barracks/combat building. Around the shaft surrounding the fort were positions for the infantry. The fort had four towers, an armored 8cm m.94 cannon and a centrally located observation tower. The fort is currently located in Ukraine.
