Micro-project: Development of companies in the tourism related sector in region of the Polish-Ukraine border, based around the defensive architecture of the First World War

Main objective: The overall objective of the project is the development of the economic and touristic area of the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Specific Objectives: The general objective of the project will be implemented through the direct objectives of the project, i.e. to facilitate the flow of information on protected monuments of architecture and tourist offers, improving the protection of monuments, providing know-how and creating investment opportunities to companies operating in the local tourism sector, and the improvement of access to tourist facilities.

The project aims to increase the usage and economic attractiveness of tourist attractions in the Polish-Ukranian border, thanks to collaboration between the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Przemysl, and the "Yuri Drohobych" Society in Drohobych. The cooperation of economic institutions through the establishment project offices on both sides of the borders, will define common fields of development, analysis, integration of institutional potential for economic development. The project is targeted to Polish and Ukrainian entrepreneurs operating in the regional tourism industry, who have been prepared to take advantage of the workshops and present their activities on the project. This will contribute to their development and thus to the economic revival of the border areas. The project aims to increase the capacity utilized by the tourist related industry, the economic attractiveness of the Polish-Ukrainian border created by partners through virtual tours of the fortifications, fortifications, defensive lines and monuments of the First World War. As a result of the implementation of the project the functioning of the business environment for small and medium enterprises operating in tourism sector of the border areas will improve, ensured thanks to the workshop (with 60 participating beneficiaries and 60 participating partners). With the release of a four language project portal and virtual tours and activities information and promotion (ads, flyers, posters, and conferences) will be emphasized cross-border impact of the project. Thanks to the partners' agreement contained at the end of the project, it will be possible to measure the long-term impact of investment and development in the tourism sector in the border region. The result of the impact of these measures will increase the economic attractiveness and tourist area of the Polish-Ukrainian border thanks to a wide group of shared knowledge society on the protected monuments of defensive architecture and offers tourist border, as well as the development of partner institutions on the basis of experience acquired in the implementation of a common project.
